Professor Saeed Mirsadraee, MD, PhD, FRCR
Consultant Cardiothoracic Radiologist | Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals

Professor of Practice in Cardiovascular Imaging at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London.

Professor Saeed Mirsadraee is an expert in cardiovascular imaging with over two decades of experience in cardiothoracic radiology. Based at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, he leads the service for aortic and cardiac valve imaging, providing specialist CT and multimodality imaging for patients with complex aortic disease, structural heart interventions, and congenital and acquired cardiovascular conditions.

His clinical work focuses on advanced CT angiographic techniques, dynamic assessment of cardiac valves, and precise pre-procedural planning for minimally invasive and transcatheter cardiac surgery. He has been instrumental in introducing new imaging approaches that improve patient selection, procedural safety, and long-term follow-up.

Professor Mirsadraee is known for collaborating closely with cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and genetic specialists to deliver integrated care pathways for patients with aortic disease, connective tissue disorders, and valve pathology. He is frequently consulted by colleagues nationally and internationally for his opinion on challenging cardiovascular imaging cases and complex procedural planning.

His research advances aortic and valvular heart disease management using computational fluid dynamics for risk stratification and procedural planning. He leads the aortic research team, supervises postgraduate students, and collaborates with multiple universities as well as industry partners.

Qualifications include FRCR (2009), PhD in Cardiovascular Tissue Engineering from University of Leeds (2006), MRCSEd and MRCPS Glasg (2002), Postgraduate Diploma in Health Research from University of Leeds (2004), and MD from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (1993). He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists, European Society of Cardiology, Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, and Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, among other professional memberships.
